Box score/play-by-playPoor shooting doomed the Montana Grizzlies to a 48-59 loss to Northern Colorado in the second conference game for both teams.
Brian Qvale was the lone bright spot for the Grizzlies, scoring his fourth double-double in five games with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Montana was held to 32.1 percent from the field, including 26.9 percent for the first half.
The Bears had a 24-21 advantage at the half but quickly added to their lead with 11-4 run to start the second half.
Free throws also became a factor in the game. The Bears hit 25-of-30 compared to 11-of-16 for Montana. Yahosh Bonner was a perfect 10-for-10 from the line for Northern Colorado and led all scorers with 16 points.
Mike Proctor and Will Figures chipped in 11 points each for the Bears in the victory.
The Grizzlies head out on the road next week for games against Loyola Marymount on Thursday and Colorado State Saturday.
