It’s not over yet. The University of Montana student denied the $10,000 prize, even though he made the 45-yard field goal as a promotion during the Grizzlies’ Oct. 31 game, will be given another chance during Saturday’s home matchup against Northern Colorado.
According to University of Montana Athletics’ multimedia rights holder Grizzly Sports Properties, Matthew Brenner – the UM sophomore who was not eligible to win the initial prize money because he had not been away from playing football for five years – can take home $10,000 this Saturday if he makes the identical kick.
Lithia Auto Stores of Montana will have a check on hand to present Brenner if the 45-yard field goal attempt is successful. It will take place between the third and fourth quarters of the game.
“I’m excited about heading out onto the Grizzlies’ field again this Saturday, so we’ll see what happens," said Brenner. "That’s really great that Lithia Auto is willing to present me with a check if I made the kick again, so I’m happy to at least have the opportunity."
