DONOTUSE Mike Stadnyk

Montana: Mike will be starting at defensive end for the second season in a row. He is Montana's fourth-leading returning tackler. He was a second-round draft pick of Saskatchewan in the 2008 Canadian Football League draft.

2007: He started in all 12 contests and was the Grizzlies' 11th-leading tackler with 44 stops. His 3.5 sacks were the second most on the team, while his 6.5 stops for losses were the fifth most on the squad. He was an honorable mention All-Big Sky Conference pick.

2006: He was a redshirt at Montana due to injury.

2005: He played in all 12 games, playing both defensive end and defensive tackle.

2004: Because of many injuries on the D-line, he was pressed into duty as a ?true? freshman and played in the Grizzlies' final 10 games of the season.

High School: Following his senior season at Miller Comprehensive School he was named the Stewart Conference's ?Lineman of the Year.? He was a three-way all-star selection who played defensive end, offensive guard, and also served as his team's punter.

He was chosen team MVP in football and volleyball. His head football coach was Dwayne Ell. He was a two-time all-star in volleyball. He also participated in Provincial soccer.

Career highs: He had five tackles in four games last season. He had two stops for losses and forced a fumble at Weber State in 2004, the game in which he was activated as a true freshman. His fumble recovery came last season against Portland State.

Personal: His parents are John and Judy Stadnyk of Regina. His major is sociology. Birth date: August 8, 1986.

?Mike has had a solid career. When you lose the Buchanan Award winner and the production that Kroy Biermann brought to the defense, it's got to be picked up by somebody. It is crucial that Mike comes in and has not just a solid year, but a big year. We need some sacks, we need tackles for loss, and frankly we need for people to focus on him to free up our younger guys on the other side a bit. We need Mike to be a dominant player.? ? Head Coach Bobby Hauck
