Kevin Criswell has been named
MontanaGrizzlies.com Student-Athlete of the Month for his athletic
acheivements in the month of January. Criswell averaged 14.1
ppg, 5.3 rpg and 1.5 spg to help lead the Grizzlies' to a 5-3
overall record and a 4-3 Big Sky Conference record.
The 6-foot-2 junior guard from Colstrip, Mont., opened the month
with a 21 point, eight rebound performance in Montana's 73-67
win over Rocky Mountain College.
Criswell continued his strong play into the Big Sky Conference schedule registering double-figure scoring marks in five of UM's seven league contests. He tallied 15 points and seven boards in the Grizzlies' 70-41 blowout win at Idaho State. Criswell had a team-best 14 points and five rebounds in 37 minutes of action in the 76-62 loss at Weber State.
Criswell scored 10 points and had three steals in the 84-72 win over Sacramento State on Thursday, January 22. Two nights later he exploded for 20 points, a season- and career-high 11 rebounds, five assists and four steals in UM's 83-79 home win over Northern Arizona.
The three-year starter capped January with 16 points, on five-of-nine shooting from the field, in UM's 68-58 win at Eastern Washington.
As of January 31, Criswell led the Grizzlies in points per game, minutes played, field goal attempts, field goals made, free throw attempts, free throws made and free throw percentage. |
