Hollie Tyler has been named the MontanaGrizzlies.com Student-Athlete of the Month for her play during the month of December. In six contests the 6-3 center from Leadore, Idaho, averaged 16.7 points, 10.8 rebounds and 4.0 blocks per game as the Lady Griz went 3-3. Tyler shot 50.6 percent from the field, 60.0 percent from 3-point range and 79.2 percent from the free throw line.

Tyler closed out the month averaging 21.5 points and 11.0 rebounds in Montana's wins over Maine and previously undefeated Florida State as the Lady Griz won their 22nd title in the 25th year of their Holiday Classic. Tyler scored a career-high 27 points against the Seminoles to earn most valuable player honors. She was named to the Lady Griz Holiday Classic all-tournament team the previous three years.

At Idaho on Dec. 8, a narrow 59-58 loss, Tyler's sixth and final block of the game made her the Montana career leader in that category, passing the previous record holder, Lisa McLeod (1985-89), who totaled 237 career blocks. Tyler ended the month with 249 career blocked shots.

Tyler has also moved up two other notable lists. She is currently No. 3 on the career scoring list with 1,414 points and No. 6 on the career rebounding list with 829 boards.
