No. 37 Legacy - Griz Football
The Bookstore at The University of Montana and UM Athletics have once again joined forces to help raise money to purchase lettermen's jackets for all of UM's student-athletes in the 14 sponsored Division I varsity sports.
This season Griz fans have the opportunity to purchase the No. 37 Nike Legacy T-Shirt retailing at $24. The Bookstore at The University of Montana is the only retailer partnering with UM Athletics to give back to the program. All sales of the promotional t-shirt from The Bookstore go to the purchase of UM's lettermen's jackets.
The campaign kicks off Thursday, August 24, at the annual Great Griz Encounter which will be held from 5:30-9 p.m. at Caras Park in downtown Missoula. The lucky winner of a raffle ticket purchased prior to UM’s remaining five home football games will receive a free No. 37 Legacy T-Shirt from The Bookstore at The University of Montana, have his/her picture taken during the pre-game coin toss, and receive a framed photo as a keepsake.
The UM Cheer Squad will be selling Legacy raffle tickets (all season long) prior to each home game and the winner will be announced for the Grizzlies’ next home contest immediately following the coin toss.

About the No. 37
Grizzly football jersey No. 37 began its Legacy in the mid-80's when it was worn by fullback Kraig Paulson, who is now Montana’s defensive coordinator.
Since 1986 the player who wore the No. 37 passed it down to a younger player of his choice, with the only criteria, that player must hail from the state of Montana.
That Legacy time line: Paulson (1983-86, from Plentywood), defensive back Tim Hauck (1987-89, from Big Timber), safety Todd Ericson (1990-93 from Butte), linebacker Jason Crebo (1994-97 from Helena), defensive end Andy Petek (1997-2000, from Helena), defensive end Ciche Pitcher (2000-01 and 2003, from Anaconda), and current linebacker Loren Utterback (2004-present, from Fort Benton).
