NCAA Tournament (Albuquerque)
Boise, Idaho - Taco Bell Arena
For 36 minutes and 50 seconds, Montana was two points better than top seed Washington. But those first 3 minutes and 10 seconds were killers. The Huskies scored the game's first 13 points and held off several Grizzly charges to post an 88-77 win in an NCAA tournament first-round game in front of 11,871 converted Montana fans at Taco Bell Arena. Throw out those first 190 seconds of the game - Washington made its first seven shots in all - and the Griz outscored the Huskies 77-75. Four times the Griz whittled what had been a 19-point Husky lead to just nine, twice in the first half and twice in the second, each time drawing a huge roar from fans who adopted the Griz as their own. But every time the Huskies had an answer.
